About Me

Who I Am

After graduating from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering, I was blessed with an offer from Northrop Grumman to work as a Software Engineer. As of now, I have been working for Northrop Grumman for a little over a year and have learned an extensive amount of material! Now, you may ask yourself why did I decide to split paths and solely focus on software engineering. During the pandemic, I worked as a front-end developer for a startup company called Memley. In this position, I fell in love with working with a dedicated team of engineers, UI/UX designers, and the CEO of the company. The goal of the company was to create a mobile and web application that would allow accesible education to students all over the US. It was an amazing feeling to be able to see the work I had put in being used by various users. I began focusing more on software engineering at that point, and specifically became more interested in full-stack development. At Northrop Grumman, I feel the same euphoric feeling after finishing a difficult ticket, or seeing my work in action during a demonstration to our customers. I think I've always been a results-oriented person.

Enough of my professional side!

Outside of work, I've been really enjoying learning the guitar, watching movies, and playing a plethora of sports. My current personal goals are to read 25 books by the end of the year and to complete the Richmond Half-Marathon. Since I no longer have homework to do or essays to study for, I have been enjoying reading so much more and I'm so close to finishing my goal. I absolutely hate running for long periods of time, but I feel like I should at least finish one marathon in my prime. Even as I train for the half-marathon, it is so painstakingly boring, but I know it'll feel so rewarding once I do finish it.

Some life-long goals I have are to obtain a Masters or PhD; not because I love studying, but because at some point I want to become a professor at a university. Sadly, the advanced degrees are minimal requirements. Alas, when the time comes, I will once again prevail against the hardships of studying. I also want to own a cafe by the time I'm 50. I feel like it would be such a fun project, and a way I can give back to the community once I get my feet grounded.

Hope you learned a bit about me :)

Projects

Current and Past Work!

  • Webfolio: Currently In the works! As I'm learning NextJS I also wanted to create a new webfolio to advance my full-stack skills, learn some of the basics of UI and to get creative. It will also be a home for my book reviews, and maybe even a possible coffee blog!
  • GoodReads Web Scraping API: I absolutely hate the UI for the GoodReads application. I developed this web scraper to grab all of my book reviews and display it on a page in my webfolio.
  • Online Casino: A couple of my previous classmates and I developed a simulated online casino with both single and multi-player functionality. We call it a simulated online casino because we did not want people to actually gamble. We let users "deposit" funds from a fake bank account or crypto wallet. Lots of fun to play!
  • Electric Car BSPD: Designed a programmable circuit board and developed a brake system plausability device for an electric car used in the FSAE racing competition.
  • Sudoku Solver: Created a python program that builds a fully solved sudoku board, randomly inserts blank spaces on the board and then solves it again using a backtracking algorithm.
  • SENSE Research Group: Developed micro-climate sensors that monitor weather conditions, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. Some are currently being used at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center!
  • Veldt: My friends and I started this company so we could develop our first game. Sadly we never finished the game, but we did learn a lot about the development process as well as how to use programs such as Unity.
  • RenU-MD: Creating a machine that cleans up oil/pollutants in freshwater areas
